How to change mode: Stop the vehicle, fully close the throttle, and press the MODE switch on the left handlebar. For USER1/USER2 customisation, press and hold the MODE switch while in the desired user mode, then adjust P, EB, and T levels using the sel switch.

Torque Control note: Setting T to level 0 disables Torque Control entirely. This setting is not saved when the ignition is turned off — it reverts to level 1 on next startup.
Standard Equipment
Technology & Features
📱

Honda RoadSync

Connect your smartphone via Bluetooth® 4.2+ for voice-controlled navigation, music, and calls through your headset. Operated via handlebar sel switch or voice commands.

📊

TFT Digital Display

Three display types (BAR, CIRCLE, SIMPLE) with auto brightness, customisable INFO area, status display, and full settings control. Shows speed, tach, fuel, gear position, and more.

🔒

ABS Braking System

Anti-lock Brake System on both wheels helps prevent lock-up during hard braking. Active above 10 km/h. Radial-mount front calipers with dual 296 mm discs.

🎯

Honda Selectable Torque Control

HSTC detects rear wheel spin and limits torque during acceleration. Also controls wheelie during acceleration. Three levels plus off, adjustable per riding mode.

🔀

Throttle by Wire

Electronic throttle control enables precise power delivery and the integration of riding modes. The system manages fueling maps for each mode seamlessly.

Assist-Slipper Clutch

Prevents rear tire lock-up during aggressive downshifting by reducing engine braking effect. Also makes the clutch lever feel lighter for less rider fatigue.

💡

Full LED Lighting

LED headlight, brake/tail light, front & rear turn signals with auto-cancel function. Self-cancelling signals activate after ~7 seconds or 150 m of riding.

🔌

USB-C Charging

USB Type-C socket under the rear seat provides 15W (5V, 3.0A) charging. Keep the engine running while charging to avoid draining the battery.

🏍️

Lean Angle Sensor

The ignition cut-off system detects if the vehicle falls over and automatically stops the engine and fuel pump. Reset by turning ignition OFF and ON.

Quick Shifter System
Clutchless Precision
Shift up and down without clutch or throttle operations. Three pedal load levels (Soft, Medium, Hard) or disable independently for up and down shifts.

Minimum RPM for Upshift

1st → 2nd2,000 rpm
2nd → 3rd2,000 rpm
3rd → 4th2,000 rpm
4th → 5th1,900 rpm
5th → 6th1,900 rpm

Downshift functions when engine speed exceeds idle speed. The system does not function when the clutch lever is being operated or when upshifting with throttle closed.

Service Schedule
Maintenance Timeline
Keep your Hornet performing at its best. Here are the key service intervals from the official maintenance schedule.

Break-in Period

During the first 500 km, avoid full-throttle starts, rapid acceleration, hard braking, and rapid downshifts. Ride conservatively.

0 – 500 km

Initial Service

First scheduled inspection including Honda Diagnostic System check, throttle operation, engine oil & filter, drive chain, brakes, and all safety systems.

1,000 km

Drive Chain

Inspect slack (25–35 mm), clean with O-ring safe cleaner, and lubricate with Pro Honda HP Chain Lube or equivalent. Check sprockets for wear.

Every 1,000 km

Regular Service

Full inspection of fuel lines, throttle, air cleaner, valve clearance, cooling system, brake system, clutch, suspension, and all fasteners.

Every 6,400 km

Engine Oil

Replace engine oil annually or at each service interval. Use SAE 10W-30, JASO MA, API SJ or higher. Capacity: 3.3 L (drain) / 3.5 L (with filter).

Annually or at service

Spark Plug

Inspect every 25,600 km, replace every 51,200 km. Standard plug: SILMAR8A9S (NGK). Gap: 0.8–0.9 mm (non-adjustable).

25,600 / 51,200 km

Brake Fluid

Replace every 2 years. Use Honda DOT 4 Brake Fluid or equivalent. Requires mechanical skill — dealer service recommended.

Every 2 years

Coolant

Replace every 3 years. Use Pro Honda HP Coolant (50/50 pre-mixed). Cooling system capacity: 1.53 L. Never use tap water.

Rider Safety
Ride Responsibly

Always Wear a Helmet

Helmets and protective apparel significantly reduce the number and severity of injuries. Always wear an approved helmet, gloves, boots, and protective jacket.

Break-in Period

First 500 km: avoid full-throttle, hard braking, and rapid downshifts. Ride conservatively to ensure future reliability and performance.

ABS Limitations

ABS does not reduce braking distance — in some conditions it may increase it. ABS does not function below 10 km/h. Always use both front and rear brakes together.

Torque Control

HSTC does not work during deceleration and will not prevent rear wheel skid from engine braking. Do not close the throttle suddenly on slippery surfaces.

Carbon Monoxide

Never run the engine in enclosed or partially enclosed areas. Carbon monoxide in exhaust is colourless, odourless, and can cause death.

Loading Limits

Maximum weight capacity: 166 kg (rider + passenger + luggage). Maximum luggage weight: 13.5 kg. Secure all luggage evenly and close to the centre.

Pre-ride Inspection

Before every ride: check tyre pressure, lights, horn, signals, chain condition, throttle action, brake operation, fuel level, and oil level.

No Modifications

Do not add unapproved accessories or make modifications. Do not pull a trailer or attach a sidecar — the vehicle was not designed for these.
